“Umm. I’m hot. I don’t have one of those fancy controllers for my fans. I need to PULL on a chain to get me some air.” I bet you said that at least once about your fan. Cool, me too. Don’t fret. Make pulling that chain a happening trendy thing.
Here’s what you need:
The fan pull kits I use to get from Hobby Lobby in the bead section. However, lately I haven’t seen them. I haven’t done extensive research online to look for them. If you can’t find one, you can go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and purchase 16 or 17 guage wire. The lower the number, the thicker the wire. Then you can buy parts online.
You will need finials to attach the chain to the jump ring.
Couplings attach your diy fan pull to the chain already provided with the fan
Chain is needed to add length to the fan pull
I like to use beads by inBloom because they have wider holes.
When you get to the top of your wire, you may need to cut a bit off if your beads didn’t fall perfectly where they should. You want to give yourself enough room with the leftover wire, however, to make a rounded end. Take your round nose pliers and turn the wire inward to create a loop.
Next, open your jump ring like show in the picture. Don’t pull the ends apart. Simple twist one of the ends forward.
Put the beaded wire and the chain both in the the jump ring. Then, close that sucker up.
